My friend Lucas Doherty and I have decided to begin recording our own podcast. The main reasons behind this are the fact that we like to talk, have massive egos and love the sounds of our own voices. Also, it seems like a cheap and easy way to do something at least somewhat creative
We are aiming to record two 30 minute podcasts every 3 months, meaning we should have recorded 8 podcasts by the end of the year if I have even the most basic grasp of mathematics.
The topics discussed in these podcasts will include sports and pop culture as well the things that are happening in our lives and the lives of our friends. The working tag line for the podcast is: ‘Sports, pop culture and other miscellaneous ramblings from a couple of young men who refuse to grow up.” We have yet to decide on a title for our recordings.
As well as Lucas and me, we plan on having a guest podcaster for each recording. These guests will be drawn from our most interesting friends, those who have some new and exciting project or what not happening in their lives at the time of recording. (Please just ask us if you’d like to be a guest)
Our first, pilot if you will, podcast will be recorded on or just after Australia Day. Being that we generally listen to the Triple J Hottest 100 countdown on Australia Day and attend the Big Day Out music festival the weekend following Australia Day, we thought music to be the most appropriate topic to discuss in our first recording.
We’re not going to take this thing too seriously – we’ll probably be drunk most of the time – and we don’t really have any ambitions for the recordings. If people listen they listen, if they don’t they don’t.
I’ll post the link/RSS feed as soon as I figure that part out.
