What if the devil were real? What if he or she were here, living on Earth and had been for the last God knows how many years only, what if he or she didn’t know they were the devil? What if they weren’t aware that they had been living amongst human being for far longer than anyone knew or could possibly comprehend? What if they had all sorts of abilities, could influence people and events in sinister ways without them knowing? What if they were somehow responsible for all sorts of horrible eventualities without them knowing? What if all the things that people remembered as accidents were not accidents at all? And then what if that person started t realise these things? What if the more they thought about it the more they realised they had no time for honour, loyalty, generosity and kindness. What if they started to notice that cruelty, dishonesty, cowardice and cold-heartedness didn’t bother them in the slightest. What if they realised they could take advantage of people’s apathy, their ignorance and stupidity? What if, still without knowing 100% who they were, they started to embrace the darkness. What if they started to enjoy it? What if they almost completely lost touch with any semblance of humanity they had? What if they were fully prepared to commit any and all sorts of irredeemable acts. And then what if they met someone? What if this person found something within them they thought had been destroyed? What if they were brought back for the darkness? What if, against all odds, they were rehabilitated? What if it was during this rehabilitation that they finally learned the truth of their origins? What if they accepted that truth but chose to embrace the light instead? What if there was someone on Earth who could make the devil him/herself change their tune? What if the devil was no longer the devil? What if God were no longer God? What if?
