At the beginning of this month I wrote two different stories for the Australian Writers' centre Furious Fiction competition. The the first one, entitled Yeezy Does It, I did not enter into the competition, but did post to this site a couple of days later. The second one, titled Reservations, I did enter, though not … Continue reading Reservations (April 2021 FF)

Big Game (June 2020 FF)
A Furious Fiction entry from smack bang in the middle of Covid-19 lockdown. Only I wasn't locked down as my day job was deemed and essential service. In fact, we were busier than we had ever been up to the point in time. I work in online retail, the definition of essential service being somewhat … Continue reading Big Game (June 2020 FF)
Alex the Adventurer
This was the first story I wrote as part of the keyword challenge I first mentioned in the introduction to the story Tell Me What You See, posted almost a year ago now. Back then I didn't really explain what that keyword challenge involved, at least, not in the introduction, so I will do so … Continue reading Alex the Adventurer
Ramblings of a Man Rediscovering his Motivation
Here's the thing. I really want to post something here that isn't one of my Furious Fiction entries or a story I wrote in a journal or on a napkin, paper-bag or air sickness bag in the past couple of years. It was a supremely awesome trip that I hop to be able to repeat one day, though … Continue reading Macaroons

I'm like that sometimes. It was inspired by some recent conversations I've had with a couple of my co-workers, who for some reason have all of a sudden become low level athletic footwear enthusiasts.
Reservations – 1st Draft
Most of the time with these things, I start writing a story based on an idea that has randomly popped into my head,an idea that is completely independent of the criteria put in place by the Australian Writers' Centre - the organisation that hosts the Furious Fiction competition - and this time was no exception. In fact, the only difference between this submission and my previous attempts was that, having missed the previous month's competition, I decided to write two stories.
